After more than 30 years maintaining the machines for a timber mill at Wagga Wagga, Don Belling is dismantling them ahead of its closure after bushfire decimated the local wood supply.
The Big River Timber Mill‘s wood supply was decimated by the 2020 bushfires and the company got a $10 million grant to re-locate operations to Grafton.
General manager Craig Dorwood says none of the 65 original employees are planning to move to the North Coast, so retraining has been important in preparing them for future employment.
